OX2 secures contract in Poland for two 200 MW energy storage units

OX2 has won contracts in Poland for two battery energy storage systems with a total capacity of 200 MW/400MWh.

The acquisition was secured during the main market auction for 2029 at a closing price of 264.90 PLN/kW/year. The company expects the units to begin operating by 2027-2028.

Paul Stormoen, CEO of OX2, stated that Poland is one of OX2's key markets and "it is important that we are adding more energy storage to our portfolio. The development of renewable energy drives economic growth, strengthens security, generates independence, and provides solutions to combat climate change. We look forward to our contribution to Poland's energy transition growing in the coming years."

With this new acquisition, the company continues to grow in Poland. It is currently carrying out construction works at the Bejsce wind farm, which has a capacity of about 20 MW, and at the Rutki solar farm, with a capacity of 100 MW. OX2 also manages wind farms with a total capacity of nearly 280 MW. The portfolio of projects under development in Poland amounted to about 3.1 GW by the end of the third quarter of 2024.
