PNE Group obtains permits for three wind farms in Germany
he PNE Group has received the necessary permits for the construction and operation of three onshore wind power installations in the German states of Brandenburg, Hesse, and North Rhine-Westphalia, with a combined capacity of approximately 46 megawatts (MW).
Once operational, the facilities will be capable of supplying electricity to around 36,000 three-person households annually, marking a significant contribution to the energy transition in the respective regions.
In Brandenburg, the existing Gerdshagen wind farm will be expanded with the addition of one more turbine. At Holzhäuser Berg in Hesse, a single 7.2 MW turbine will be installed. In Niederkrüchten, North Rhine-Westphalia, five turbines with a total output of 33 MW are planned. These will form part of the future Niederkrüchten Energy Park, which will also include a 20 MWp photovoltaic plant currently under development by PNE.
"The permits granted represent an important milestone in our ongoing growth," said Roland Stanze, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PNE AG. "They confirm not only the steady progress of our projects, but also our long-standing expertise in navigating complex approval processes. This reinforces a central pillar of our strategy: the development of sustainable energy solutions across wind, photovoltaics, and future technologies such as power-to-x and storage."
As part of its balanced growth strategy, PNE combines the expansion of its own wind and solar parks with the selective sale of projects. By the end of 2027, the company aims to have 1.1 GW in operation or under construction, with a project pipeline projected to reach between 10 and 15 GW.
With these latest approvals, PNE Group reaffirms its commitment to driving the energy transition and developing long-term renewable energy infrastructure in Germany and across Europe.
