Energyear Portugal returns to Lisbon with 400 professionals and 50 speakers shaping the renewable agenda
Lisbon will once again become a key meeting point for the energy sector with the return of Energyear Portugal on February 19. The event will gather over 400 professionals, more than 50 speakers, and over 10 panel discussions in a day designed to analyze the challenges, opportunities, and trends of Portugal’s renewable energy market.
The event comes at a particularly relevant moment for the country, which is steadily advancing its energy transition but still faces significant challenges. In 2025, renewable energy accounted for 68% of total consumption, still short of the 86% target set for 2025 and the 93% goal for 2030. Renewable generation represented 75.6% of the total, a drop of 4.9 percentage points compared to 2024, reflecting an environment marked by volatility, regulatory complexity, and grid integration challenges.
A forum to understand the direction of the energy market
In this context, Energyear Portugal has established itself as a strategic platform to debate the current state of the sector and where the energy market is truly heading, with particular focus on solar development, energy storage, and regulatory evolution.
Throughout the event, experts, developers, investors, utilities, financial institutions, EPCs, and technology providers will analyze the main drivers shaping Portugal’s renewable energy roadmap.
Discussions will focus on the development and execution of solar and storage projects in today’s Portugal, covering the full journey from permitting and construction to grid connection. The role of next-generation technological solutions and EPCs in improving the profitability of hybrid and solar projects will also be examined in an increasingly competitive environment.
Another key topic will be the monetization of renewable energy in volatile markets, with particular attention to PPAs, trading, storage, and bankability criteria, all essential to ensure the financial viability of projects. Finally, the event will explore standardization and scalability in the utility-scale segment, focusing on optimizing plant design from engineering to construction to reduce costs, timelines, and risks.
These discussions will provide a comprehensive view of the project lifecycle, from development to operation and financing, addressing technical, regulatory, and commercial challenges.
Networking, business, and knowledge all in one space
Beyond the conference program, the event emphasizes generating business opportunities and fostering direct connections among industry professionals.
Energyear Portugal will offer a complete B2B meeting system, allowing attendees to arrange in-person or online meetings with other companies. Through the business matching service, participants can access the attendee list and filter contacts according to their interests, creating a highly personalized meeting agenda.
Additionally, the 24-hour networking format will allow attendees to connect from any device and location, expanding opportunities for interaction before, during, and after the conference. Live and on-demand sessions will also ensure access to key content even after the event concludes.
In a context defined by the need to accelerate renewable deployment, optimize grid integration, and ensure project economic viability, the Lisbon event aims to become a space for reflection, connection, and the creation of real solutions for Portugal’s energy market.
