France Travail and France Renouvelables join forces to boost employment in the renewable energy sector
France Travail and France Renouvelables announced the signing of a cooperation agreement at the France Renouvelables 2025 national conference, held at the Parc Floral in Paris, to address workforce challenges in the renewable energy sector. This strengthened collaboration is part of a proactive approach aimed at anticipating skills needs and filling the 80,000 job vacancies expected by 2030.
An alliance serving the energy transition
The gradual phase-out of fossil fuels and the development of renewable energies require a transformation of the labour market. Against this backdrop, France Travail and France Renouvelables are joining forces to support jobseekers in acquiring and developing their skills, thereby facilitating their professional integration into this fast-growing sector.
As part of their collaboration, France Travail and France Renouvelables have committed to implementing concrete actions built around four strategic priorities. These priorities are not isolated objectives, but rather a common thread linking the implementation of actions with tangible outcomes for the renewable energy sector.
The first objective, focused on maintaining synergy between networks, aims to establish smooth and effective communication between the regional sector representatives of France Travail and those of France Renouvelables.
Through the regular organisation of webinars and exchange sessions, both entities ensure that the specific needs of the labour market are well understood and addressed. This strengthened cooperation will optimise support for jobseekers while meeting the expectations of companies in the sector.
The second objective is to make careers in renewable energy more attractive. Through the joint organisation of information events, France Renouvelables and France Travail aim to promote careers in this field.
The goal is clear: to attract as many potential candidates as possible while diversifying their profiles. This involves creating educational resources and regularly updating the professional skills database, ensuring that jobseekers have access to accurate and up-to-date information on available opportunities. In this regard, the launch of the France Renouvelables website, will provide a solid foundation for promoting employment and training in renewable energy.
The third area of focus concerns reintegration into the labour market. By gaining a better understanding of the sector’s recruitment needs, France Travail Pro will be able to offer tailored services to its member companies. This includes facilitating work placements for jobseekers, allowing them to experience first-hand the professions available. At the same time, this proactive approach will enable recruiters to better identify talent that matches their specific needs.
Finally, the fourth focus area is inclusion. By raising awareness among companies of the challenges involved in recruiting people who are far from the labour market, this collaboration seeks to broaden the pool of applicants. The actions implemented will not only increase diversity within teams, but will also address current social challenges related to professional integration.
Implementation will be overseen by a National Steering Committee, which will meet every six months to assess and adjust the progress of the actions undertaken. This regular monitoring will ensure that each initiative adapts to changes in the market and to the needs expressed by stakeholders.
By establishing this link between implementation, monitoring and outcomes, France Travail and France Renouvelables are actively contributing to the energy transition while simultaneously promoting social inclusion. In this regard, France Renouvelables has been a certified training organisation since 3 June 2025 and will be able to support jobseekers through continuing training programmes.
