JA SOLAR debuts LR Series modules and first C&I BESS at Solar & Storage Live Birmingham 2025
JA SOLAR has confirmed its participation at Solar & Storage Live Birmingham 2025, where it will unveil two major innovations that mark a milestone in its portfolio expansion. From 23 to 25 September, the company will be at Booth C11 presenting the new LR Series double-glass monofacial modules and introducing JAPlanet, its first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for commercial and industrial (C&I) projects.
Expanding the module portfolio with the LR Series
The LR Series has been designed to address growing demand for high-performance solutions in the residential rooftop segment. The new JAM54D40/LR and JAM54D41/LR models deliver power outputs of up to 475 W, outperforming standard double-glass monofacial modules by an additional 5 to 10 W. Efficiency is also improved by 0.25 to 0.50 percent, thanks to optimized design and advanced materials.
Both models, measuring 1762 by 1134 millimetres, are built to withstand demanding conditions, offering resistance to hail up to 35 millimetres, a Class C fire rating, and mechanical load capacities of 5400 Pa on the front and 2400 Pa on the back.
The JAM54D40/LR is available with a silver or black frame for higher power performance, while the JAM54D41/LR is offered in an all-black version that prioritises aesthetics. Each comes with a 25-year warranty, promising lower investment costs, higher reliability, and stronger long-term returns.
JAPlanet: Entering the energy storage market
For the first time, JA SOLAR is expanding into the energy storage segment with the launch of JAPlanet. This BESS solution, specifically tailored for C&I projects, offers a rated capacity of 125 kW and 261 kWh. The system has been engineered to combine safety, efficiency, and ease of use, integrating a three-level intelligent fire protection mechanism, pack-level detection and extinguishing, and an explosion-proof design. These features simplify deployment while reinforcing operational security, reflecting the company’s commitment to high standards in safety and performance.
Active role in the conference programme
In addition to product launches, JA SOLAR will also contribute to the conference agenda at Solar & Storage Live. On 24 September, Dylan Middleton, ESG Manager – Sustainability and Supply Chain, will take part in the panel “Human Rights Policy and Solar Supply Chains” at the Utility Scale Theatre, joining representatives from Solar Energy UK and the Solar Stewardship Initiative to discuss pathways to stronger ESG standards.
On the closing day, 25 September, the company will deliver its presentation “Trace, Technology, Turbulence” at the Keynote Theatre. The session will address how market dynamics are reshaping the solar industry and how JA SOLAR is advancing sustainability across manufacturing and supply chains.
Commitment to innovation and sustainability
With more than 20,000 visitors expected, Solar & Storage Live Birmingham 2025 will serve as a key platform for industry leaders to showcase the next generation of technologies. By presenting its new LR Series modules and entering the BESS market with JAPlanet, JA SOLAR reaffirms its position as a global clean energy provider committed to technological innovation, product diversification, and sustainability.
