A new joint venture is born in the US to develop 4 GW of renewable projects

Elmya Energy and Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure join forces to launch Elmantic, a new joint venture to develop 4 GW of large-scale renewable projects in the United States.

According to Elmya Energy USA, together with the Atlantica North America team, it will lead all development activities of the new joint venture.

Elmantic builds on the extensive global experience in project development of both Elmya and Atlantica, as well as their operational excellence and investment capacity in infrastructure.

Atlantica, for its part, is a leading sustainable infrastructure company focused on the development, construction, and management of renewable energy, storage, efficient natural gas, and transmission assets across North America, Europe, and South America.

Carlos Piñar, CEO of Elmya, stated: “The United States is one of the largest and most dynamic energy markets in the world. The creation of Elmantic during this period of recovery and growth in the U.S. electricity industry reinforces our conviction that renewable energy will continue to play a fundamental role in the country’s growing economy.”

Elmya Energy will initially focus on the U.S. market by developing greenfield wind, solar, and energy storage projects in ERCOT and WECC regions.

With offices in Richmond, Virginia, and Austin, Texas, Elmya Energy USA plans to add new team members in 2025 to support the joint venture.

Colin Mott, Managing Director of Elmya Energy USA for North America, said: “As we move forward with new energy infrastructure, our priority is to work with landowners and communities to build mutually beneficial energy projects.”
