X-Elio signs a PPA with Google for a 128 MW photovoltaic plant

X-Elio, a Spanish company specializing in renewable energy development worldwide, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Google to supply 128 MW of electricity from its Bell solar photovoltaic plant, located in Texas, USA, the company announced in a statement.

Specifically, the Bell plant, which Google will use to support its Texas operations, is expected to begin operating in the second half of 2025. At that time, X-Elio, through a shared network, will facilitate the direct supply of energy to Google.

Additionally, the Bell photovoltaic plant will include a 100 MW battery energy storage system to provide 24/7 energy demand support.

X-Elio is already in talks with the community near the project to develop social initiatives as part of the community plan that the company implements in the regions where it operates.

“This agreement marks an important milestone in X-Elio’s strategy to develop and provide renewable energy for corporate supply. With over 5 GW of projects in development, including 1 GW expected to start construction by the end of 2024, the United States is solidifying as one of the key markets for X-Elio,” said Kerri Neary, Country Manager of X-Elio in the United States.

Mirko Molinari, CCO of X-Elio, added, “This PPA between Google and X-Elio exemplifies our commitment to the sustainability needs of the organizations we support. We are honored to collaborate with such prominent partners like Google and to join forces in creating a greener and more sustainable future.”
