Italy’s maturing PV market embraces Hoymiles’ integrated solar-storage systems

As Italy surpasses 43 GW of solar capacity, the photovoltaic market is evolving from incentive-driven residential growth toward larger utility-scale projects. This shift highlights the sector’s maturity and the increasing importance of structured, reliable energy solutions for both households and commercial users.

Hoymiles, a global leader in module-level inverters and energy storage systems, is leveraging this transition to expand its presence in Italy, combining cutting-edge technology with localized support. At the forefront of its European strategy is the recently launched HiOne all-in-one Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), designed to simplify deployment and maximize energy self-sufficiency.

Andrea Chevallard, Southern Europe Regional Director at Hoymiles, explained that the market transformation represents opportunity rather than contraction. “The residential segment has experienced a slight slowdown following the reduction of incentives, but the demand remains. Meanwhile, utility-scale projects are growing, often exceeding 5 to 20 MW. This shift reflects the maturity of the Italian solar market and the need for more structured, resilient systems.”

Hoymiles’ strategy in Italy focuses on expanding distribution, offering highly localized technical support, and enabling small-scale and Plug-insolar-storage installations. Chevallard added, “Our slogan, Open Energy for All, reflects our commitment to giving everyone the possibility of energy independence, even with limited solar exposure.”

The HiOne system integrates inverter, battery, and energy management in a compact unit, providing uninterrupted power during outages and supporting intelligent, AI-driven energy scheduling for cost optimization. “HiOne allows flexible expansion up to 64 kWh, making it adaptable for evolving household needs while simplifying installation for both installers and end-users,” Chevallard noted.

The European market is also seeing strong trends toward hybridization and energy efficiency, according to Chevallard. “After years of high PV deployment, storage has become essential. Intelligent systems, hybrid solutions, and residential batteries are increasingly in demand, particularly for C&I and small-scale applications. These trends define our priorities in Italy and across Europe.”

With its integrated solar-storage portfolio and commitment to localized support, Hoymiles is positioning itself as a key player in Italy’s energy transition, enabling households, installers, and communities to embrace self-sufficiency and a smarter, more resilient energy future.
