JA SOLAR moves n-type TOPCon into its fifth generation with the DeepBlue 5.0 module
JA SOLAR has announced the launch of its new JAM66D50-GB DeepBlue 5.0 photovoltaic module, strengthening its leadership in fifth-generation n-type TOPCon technology and setting new performance standards for utility-scale and industrial rooftop solar projects.
The module delivers a maximum power output of 670W and achieves efficiency levels of up to 24.8%, enabling higher energy density within a standard module format. Designed within a standard format of 2382 × 1134 mm, the module enables developers and EPCs to increase installed capacity without modifying existing system designs or structures, optimizing project economics and deployment timelines.
“Our commitment to TOPCon is not tactical, but strategic. Its industrial maturity, proven stability and scalable efficiency potential clearly show that this technology has not yet reached its full potential. Now in its fifth generation, TOPCon is a well-established and evolving platform, with significant performance improvements still ahead,” says Ignacio Espinosa Gil, Head of the European Technical Team at JA SOLAR.
Higher efficiency within a standard format
Designed to maximize performance without adding complexity, the DeepBlue 5.0 module integrates advanced n-type cell architecture and optimized interconnection technology to reduce electrical losses and expand the active cell area. Enhanced optical design and improved thermal behavior support stronger energy generation, particularly in high-temperature environments and low-irradiance conditions.
With a −0.26%/°C temperature coefficient and 85% ±5% bifaciality, the module achieves higher energy production from sunrise to sunset, even in high-temperature regions and low-irradiance conditions.
Long-term reliability for large-scale deployment
At cell level, JA SOLAR has introduced further refinements to improve open-circuit voltage of up to 749 mV, fill factor and conversion efficiency, while minimizing internal losses. Structural and material enhancements at module level are designed to increase durability under mechanical load and thermal cycling, supporting long-term operational stability.
The JAM66D50-GB is backed by a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year linear performance warranty, reinforcing its positioning as a bankable solution for large-scale solar assets. According to the company, both simulated and field-tested data confirm improved annual energy yield and competitive lifetime performance.
As market demand for high-efficiency solar technology continues to accelerate, JA SOLAR is scaling up manufacturing capacity to support global deployment. With the introduction of DeepBlue 5.0, the company underlines its commitment to scalable, reliable and high-value n-type TOPCon innovation in support of the global energy transition.
