Metlen signs 10-year 235 MW solar PPA with Engie in the UK

Metlen has signed a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Engie for the supply of solar-generated electricity from six projects located across the United Kingdom. The deal covers a total capacity of 235 MW, expected to deliver over 233 GWh of clean energy annually, helping to avoid more than 52,000 tonnes of CO? emissions each year.

According to Metlen, the projects are being developed and executed entirely by its subsidiary M Renewables, one of the leading contractors for solar and storage projects in the UK. Most of the sites are expected to be fully commissioned by the end of 2025, with two additional plants scheduled for completion in 2026.

The company highlighted that this PPA strengthens its growing portfolio of offtake agreements across Europe, while also reinforcing the global partnership between Metlen and Engie. The collaboration aims to deliver flexible, reliable, and low-carbon energy solutions across multiple markets.

Engie, one of the world’s largest providers of renewable PPAs, has more than 200,000 clients worldwide and is recognized for its expertise and integrated energy portfolio that supports the global energy transition.

Metlen currently has 90 renewable energy projects, including solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS), completed or under development in the UK. The company was advised by Dentons on the legal aspects of the PPA and by Our New Energy on commercial structuring.
