Next-generation PV technology in motion: JA SOLAR begins mass production of DeepBlue 5.0.
JA SOLAR, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-performance photovoltaic modules, has reached a major milestone with the start of volume production and initial shipments of its latest high-efficiency PV module, the DeepBlue 5.0, from its advanced manufacturing base in Yangzhou, China.
Built on Bycium+ 5.0 n-type cell technology and TOPCon architecture, DeepBlue 5.0 delivers up to 670W of power with conversion efficiency up to 24.8%. Its high-density interconnection design enhances energy yield and ensures long-term reliability. With a temperature coefficient of –0.26%/°C, bifaciality of 85% ±5%, first-year degradation ≤1%, and annual linear degradation ≤0.35%, the module maintains superior performance across diverse climates and installation scenarios.
The Yangzhou facility, a fully automated and intelligent production site equipped with advanced quality control systems and high-capacity lines, serves as a key hub in JA Solar’s global manufacturing network. The successful rollout of DeepBlue 5.0 demonstrates the company’s ability to execute complex production processes efficiently, delivering advanced modules to international markets on schedule and at scale.

DeepBlue 5.0 integrates upgraded electrical architecture, optimized materials, and structural refinements, reducing the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) by up to 4.3% compared with its predecessor, DeepBlue 4.0 Pro. Enhanced wafer uniformity, ultra-low oxygen content (3 ppma), and superior carrier lifetime contribute to exceptional durability and reliability.
With global deliveries now underway, JA SOLAR continues to expand production and R&D capacity, meeting growing worldwide demand for high-efficiency, sustainable PV solutions across utility-scale, commercial, and residential projects.
