Sunotec and Sungrow partner to deliver 2.4 GWh of battery storage to European solar projects
In a major step forward for Southeast Europe’s energy transition, Sunotec and Sungrow have signed a strategic agreement to deploy 2.4 GWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across multiple solar projects in Europe.
National reach, regional impact
The upcoming portfolio includes several large-scale projects across Bulgaria, addressing growing energy storage needs. Some of these projects will be supported by Bulgaria’s national RESTORE program and are set to become flagship installations—among the largest and most advanced energy storage systems in both the country and Europe.
As a trusted partner, Sungrow will supply its industry-leading PowerTitan 2.0 BESS technology, known globally for its performance in utility-scale applications. Additionally, the SG350HX-20 string inverter and Sungrow’s Modular Virtual Storage (MVS) system will be integrated into a hybrid (PV + ESS) project within the portfolio.
This agreement marks the first BESS project in Bulgaria to utilize Sungrow’s energy storage technology. For Sunotec, the collaboration reinforces its long-term strategy of embedding smart, flexible energy systems into its solar infrastructure.
“The global energy transition depends not only on how much renewable energy we generate, but on how intelligently we store and manage it,” said Kaloyan Velichkov, Founder and CEO of Sunotec. “This partnership with Sungrow reflects our shared ambition to lead the next chapter of clean energy by building resilient, storage-enabled infrastructure that brings stability, sustainability, and scale to markets across Europe and beyond.”
Supporting grid stability and renewable integration
The 2.4 GWh storage capacity will play a key role in stabilizing the grid, enabling higher integration of renewable energy, and enhancing the operational reliability of Sunotec’s solar parks in Bulgaria and throughout Europe.
For his parte, Anastasios Gkinis, Regional Director of Sungrow for CEE, SEE & CIS, added: “This collaboration with Sunotec is a cornerstone of our mission to accelerate clean energy deployment in Bulgaria and across Europe. By combining Sungrow’s cutting-edge storage technology with Sunotec’s execution excellence, we are setting new benchmarks for the region’s sustainable energy future.”
With a focus on timely delivery and cost efficiency, this agreement showcases Sunotec’s ability to execute at scale and deliver high-performance energy infrastructure—paving the way for next-generation innovation in the European energy storage sector.
