New wind deal in Germany to power 48,000 households
Danske Commodities and e.optimum have signed their first German wind Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to supply approximately 180 GWh of wind energy over a period of 18 months.
Under the PPA, Danske Commodities will deliver renewable electricity sourced from its portfolio of German wind turbines. The agreement includes a pay-as-forecasted model, with around 180 GWh to be supplied to e.optimum between July 2025 and December 2026.
The volume of the deal is equivalent to the annual consumption of approximately 48,000 households and will enable e.optimum — Germany’s largest independent energy procurement group — to provide renewable energy to its customers.
Sofie Duedahl, Head of European Origination at Danske Commodities, stated: "This collaboration marks a significant step in our mission to transform the German energy market into a more sustainable one."
Boris Käser, Chairman of the Board at e.optimum, added: "We are proud to partner with such a well-respected player to ensure reliable and cost-effective energy for our customers. This alliance highlights our commitment to actively supporting the energy transition in Germany."
