Two long-standing members of Oceantic Network, Haugland Group and Waterson Terminal Services (WTS), have formalised a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating port development and supporting the continued growth of the offshore wind sector in New York State.

Announced during Oceantic Network’s IPF conference in New York City, the newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marks a significant milestone in a collaboration built on shared values, complementary capabilities and a joint commitment to advancing a resilient clean energy future.

Under the agreement, Haugland Group’s extensive expertise in infrastructure development, marine construction and logistics will be combined with WTS’s well-established capabilities in terminal operations, port management and cargo handling. Together, the companies seek to strengthen port readiness and enhance supply chain resilience at a time when the offshore wind industry is navigating economic and operational challenges that demand deeper collaboration across the sector.

The partnership is designed to support the development of strategic port infrastructure capable of meeting the growing demands of offshore wind deployment, including the assembly, staging and transport of large-scale components. By leveraging their combined technical and operational know-how, Haugland and WTS aim to create efficient, flexible and future-proof port solutions that can facilitate project execution and reduce logistical bottlenecks.

The initiative also aligns with New York State’s ambitious offshore wind targets and broader decarbonisation strategy, which position port infrastructure as a critical enabler of the energy transition.
