More than 1 out of 10 EU-made cars exported to the UK in 2022 were battery-electric
The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association, or ACEA, published new data on vehicle trade flows between the EU and the UK, focusing on the UK battery electric car market.
According to the Association's fact sheet, more than 20% of the EU's 6.3 million vehicle exports went to the UK in 2022 (worth '30.6 billion) and more than 1 in 10 EU-manufactured cars exported to the UK in 2022 (1.1 million units) were battery electric, worth 5.1 billion.

In addition, ACEA revealed that the EU's share of the UK battery electric car market increased from 44% in 2019 to 47% in 2022. Growth that did not catch up with China, as the Asian giant's share of the UK battery electric car market increased from around 2% in 2019 to almost 32% in 2022.
