Iberdrola and TotalEnergies advance with new PPAs in France

Iberdrola and TotalEnergies to supply renewable energy in France following PPAs with Agrati and STMicroelectronics, respectively

Iberdrola will supply 105 GWh of green electricity to Agrati

In the case of Iberdrola, the company has signed an agreement with the Agrati Group, specialized in the production of fastening systems and mechanical components for the automotive sector.

Starting this year, Agrati will purchase all the electricity generated by the Florembeau wind farm, located in Créquy, in the Pas-de-Calais region.

This wind farm consists of 5 turbines with a total capacity of 10.25 MW. An annual production of 21 GWh per year will be sold to Agrati.

The wind farm will supply renewable energy to Agrati's facilities in the French towns of Fourmies, Vieux Conde (Nord-Pas de Calais), and Avressieux (Savoie).

In these production centers, which employ 570 people across an area of 84,000 m² for the manufacture of fastening systems, Agrati consumes 38 GWh of electricity annually. The production from the Florembeau wind farm will cover 53% of its energy needs.

The electricity powering these centers will reduce Agrati's current CO2 emissions in France by 33% annually.

Lorenzo Zaniboni, COO of Agrati Europe, stated that "this agreement marks an important milestone on Agrati’s path toward sustainability. By powering our production centers in France with renewable energy, we not only reduce CO2 emissions by 2,200 tons annually but also align our operations with our long-term commitment to environmental responsibility. At Agrati, we believe that investing in green energy and innovative solutions is essential for building a resilient and sustainable future for our industry."

TotalEnergies and STMicroelectronics sign PPA with a total volume of 1.5 TWh

TotalEnergies and STMicroelectronics, a global leader in semiconductors serving customers across the full spectrum of electronic applications, have signed a physical power purchase agreement (PPA) of 1 TWh to supply renewable electricity to STMicroelectronics' facilities in France.

This 15-year contract, which started in January 2025, represents a total volume of 1.5 TWh.
TotalEnergies will supply STMicroelectronics with renewable energy (including guarantees of origin) produced by two recently commissioned 75 MW wind and solar parks operated by TotalEnergies.

According to the company, this energy will be supplied with structuring services to transform intermittent production into a steady ("baseload") volume of green electricity.

This is the first 15-year contract offered in France. The positive impact of the wind and solar projects on the environment and the communities was a key factor in the success of the agreement.

Sophie Chevalier, Senior Vice President of Flexible Energy and Integration at TotalEnergies, stated that the company "aims to be a preferred partner in supporting technology industry players in their decarbonization efforts, and this agreement demonstrates our commitment and capabilities."

For his part, Geoff West, Executive Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer of STMicroelectronics, stated that "this first PPA in France marks another important step toward ST’s goal of becoming carbon neutral in its operations by 2027, including sourcing 100% renewable energy by 2027."
