Enviromena secures £825m financing to scale up UK solar pipeline
Enviromena has signed an £825 million senior portfolio financing package, marking one of the largest solar financings in the UK this year and enabling a significant expansion of its renewable energy platform.
The facility is underwritten by a syndicate of lenders including BBVA, Intesa Sanpaolo (IMI CIB), Lloyds, NatWest and Société Générale. An initial £525 million has already been committed, providing immediate capital to support the delivery of a 1 GW solar pipeline across the UK.
The transaction represents a key milestone for the company, strengthening its capacity to deliver projects at scale amid growing demand for domestically generated clean energy.
“This is a landmark transaction for our business and demonstrates strong momentum in our growth strategy,” said Chris Marsh, Chief Executive Officer of Enviromena. “With this support, we are accelerating the transition from development to delivery, building a gigawatt-scale solar platform to supply homes and businesses, and support the UK’s energy transition.”
Marsh added that the investment directly contributes to the country’s net zero targets and the need to scale low-carbon energy solutions. “Rapid deployment of large-scale solar will be essential to meeting national targets, enhancing energy security, and reducing long-term costs for consumers,” he said.
The £825 million financing is structured as a flexible platform facility, including a £300 million uncommitted accordion, allowing it to expand as projects progress from late-stage development through construction and into operation.
“We’ve been supporting Enviromena since 2017, a period in which the business has evolved into a national leader in renewable energy,” said Romain Py, Arjun Infrastructure Partners. “This new financing package will enable the firm to continue its strong growth trajectory.”
With projects ready to move forward and funding secured, Enviromena is well positioned to expand its footprint in the UK solar market, bringing new capacity online and supporting the evolution of the country’s energy mix.
Perella Weinberg acted as exclusive financial advisor to Enviromena, while Travers Smith served as borrower counsel and Eversheds Sutherland advised the lenders.
