One of Romania’s largest solar parks to be built in Visina by Eurowind
Eurowind Energy has announced the development of a new solar park in Visina, located in Romania’s Dâmbovita County. The project will have an installed capacity of 220 MW and involve an initial investment of €174.8 million.
According to the company, this will be its largest project in Romania and one of the biggest solar developments nationwide.
The park will be built on 354 hectares of land and will include more than 400,000 photovoltaic panels. Once operational, it is expected to generate around 400 GWh of renewable electricity per year—enough to supply the annual energy needs of approximately 150,000 households.
The investment will also bring significant benefits to the local community. Eurowind Energy plans to upgrade a 7.5-kilometer agricultural access road, which will remain open to the public, contributing to local infrastructure development.
Adrian Dobre, Country Manager for Romania at Eurowind Energy, stated: “the Visina project marks an important milestone for us. We've been working on it for several years, and we're excited to see it moving closer to the construction phase. We always take a long-term view, and when needed, we are ready to integrate storage solutions to help stabilize the grid and support the sustainable growth of the energy sector.”
