Gonvarri Solar Steel has consolidated the transport of 350 TEUs for several of its 1P trackers’ deliveries in Spain into a single next-generation vessel designed to reduce the environmental impact of maritime logistics. The cargo is scheduled to arrive at the Port of Alicante on August 6.

The shipment will supply projects located in Málaga, Zaragoza and Toledo, in line with the company’s strategy to deploy increasingly efficient logistics solutions aligned with its sustainability objectives. Out of the total volume transported, 225 TEUs correspond to the project located in Casares, Málaga, which will be fully supplied through this single vessel.

This logistics planning had enabled Gonvarri Solar Steel to optimize material transport, reduce intermediate operations and improve the overall efficiency of its supply chain. By concentrating cargo in one maritime operation, the company reinforces a clear principle: the energy transition must also be built through smarter, cleaner and more responsible transport decisions.

The vessel used for this operation integrates advanced technologies aimed at improving environmental performance. These include readiness to operate with methanol as a future fuel, Onshore Power Supply connectivity to reduce emissions during port calls, and advanced voyage optimization systems that increase energy efficiency throughout the journey.

Based on the vessel’s efficiency and the logistics concentration achieved, this operation is reducing CO2 emissions associated with maritime transport by up to 25% compared to conventional operations carried out with traditional vessels. In addition, the technologies incorporated into the vessel enable a significant reduction in nitrogen oxide, sulfur oxide and particulate emissions, contributing to cleaner and more sustainable maritime transport.
