1. Energyear Caribe se prepara para reunir a más de 400 líderes del sector renovable en Santo Domingo

Energyear Caribe celebra su cuarta edición en República Dominicana con una apuesta por seguir avanzando en la incorporación de energías renovables y continuar desarrollando la transición energética del Caribe, aprovechando su inmenso potencial renovable a través del espacio de networking mejor valorado por la industria. 

Del 27 al 28 de septiembre, líderes de toda la cadena de valor de las energías renovables se reunirán en el Hotel Intercontinental Real Santo Domingo para analizar punto por punto los temas más relevantes en el camino hacia la transición energética del país. 

2. MITECO concede 20 millones para facilitar la creación de nuevas comunidades energéticas

El Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico (MITECO), a través del Instituto para la Diversificación y Ahorro de la Energía (IDAE), ha resuelto de forma definitiva la primera convocatoria del programa de ayudas a Oficinas de Transformación Comunitaria (OTC) para la promoción y dinamización de Comunidades Energéticas (CE OFICINAS) con la adjudicación de los 20 millones de euros previstos a un total de 79 proyectos repartidos por gran parte del territorio nacional.

El programa busca facilitar la creación de nuevas comunidades energéticas de toda índole (ciudadanas, empresariales, industriales, etc) con medidas de difusión, asesoría y acompañamiento, que allanen el camino y extiendan el conocimiento general sobre esta fórmula cooperativa de producción y consumo de energía renovable, así como promotora de medidas de eficiencia energética, gestión de la demanda y movilidad sostenible.

3. What is France's roadmap to reach 18 GW of offshore wind in operation by 2035?

For France, wind energy is a key element for the development of renewable energies in the country, without which it would not be able to meet its climate targets. Within the wind sector, offshore wind energy is of great importance. France has 354,000 km² of metropolitan maritime space and three working spaces: the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and the English Channel. France's main objective is to work towards a major auction in the future that will lead to the installation of 18 GW of offshore wind power by 2035 and 50 GW by 2050.

This was explained during Energyear France by Michel Gioria, CEO of France Energie Eolienne, who outlined the future steps that will be taken to boost offshore wind in France. Gioria stressed that they have a very dynamic market and that one of France's great successes is that a third of Europe's offshore wind production capacity comes from France, and despite the legal and regulatory issues that brought French development to a halt, now with this new plan there are ambitious objectives and they are working with all the sectors involved to carry them out.

4. Ecuador fortalece instrumentos regulatorios para la generación distribuida

El Ministerio de Energía y Minas de Ecuador expidió un Acuerdo Ministerial para viabilizar y generar condiciones óptimas para la inclusión de la generación distribuida para autoabastecimiento en el sistema eléctrico ecuatoriano, conforme a lo dispuesto en el artículo 24 del Reglamento a la Ley Orgánica del Servicio Público de Energía Eléctrica.

De acuerdo con el Ministerio, el Acuerdo impulsa el ingreso de un mayor volumen de generación distribuida que permita el autoabastecimiento a nivel de distribución, en zonas industriales, residenciales, comerciales, entre otras, ayudando a la reducción de la demanda que es servida desde el sistema nacional interconectado.

5. Colorado's clean energy breakthrough: 14 billion in utility-scale investments

The American Clean Power Association (ACP) published its most recent repote Clean Energy Powers Colorado in which it reveals the significant contributions utility-scale clean energy projects are making in Colorado. The report finds that over one-third of the state’s energy capacity is currently generated through solar and wind projects, making Colorado a top 10 state for wind and solar deployment. Clean energy capacity in the state now stands at nearly 7,000 megawatts (MW), enough to power 2.5 million homes.

According to the ACP, clean energy in the state has grown by way of nearly $14 billion of capital investment into not only utility-scale solar, storage, and wind projects, but also into a robust manufacturing sector. Colorado’s 12 operating clean energy manufacturing facilities have created jobs throughout the state, helping increase the number of Coloradans working in the utility-scale sector to more than 15,750. These utility-scale clean energy jobs span from development and operations to manufacturing and construction roles.
