JA SOLAR unveils advanced BESS solution and DeepBlue 5.0 modules at Genera 2025
JA SOLAR, one of the world’s leading photovoltaic module manufacturers with over 20 years of experience, will be present at Genera 2025 at Stand 10F10 – Pavilion P10. The fair, organized by IFEMA MADRID in collaboration with the Institute for Diversification and Saving of Energy (IDAE), will take place from November 18 to 20, 2025. The company will use the event to present its broad energy solutions portfolio, ranging from energy storage systems for commercial and industrial projects to advanced photovoltaic modules for residential and utility applications.
BESS Solution for C&I Projects: Efficiency and Flexibility
A key highlight for JA SOLAR at Genera will be its new BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) for C&I projects, already introduced in pilot projects in Italy. This solution enables optimized solar self-consumption, manages power demand using AI-based forecasting, and generates additional revenue through ancillary market participation, with estimated energy cost reductions of 6 to 12%.
The JA SOLAR BESS integrates advanced protection with three-stage fuses, a three-level fire safety system, and real-time thermal monitoring, ensuring ±1.5°C operating consistency. Predictive AI-based maintenance allows over 90% of issues to be diagnosed and resolved remotely, enhancing uptime and system reliability. With 88% round trip efficiency (RTE), long-life LFP batteries, and a modular design, the system allows rapid component replacement and supports future infrastructure expansion.
The JAP-ES-125kW-261kWh model, with AC power of 125kW, supports up to 20 units in parallel, 95% depth of discharge, and operates from -30°C to +50°C, making it adaptable to a variety of climates and project requirements across Europe.
LR Modules: High Power and Efficiency for Residential Rooftops
In addition, JA SOLAR will present its new double-glass monofacial modules (LR series), designed for the residential segment and offering higher power and efficiency compared to standard modules. The JAM54D40/LR and JAM54D41/LR models provide up to 475W, improving efficiency by 0.25–0.50% thanks to advanced materials and optimized design.
Both modules, measuring 1762 × 1134mm, are engineered for demanding conditions: they withstand hail up to 35mm, feature fire class certifications, and support mechanical loads of 5400Pa front / 2400Pa rear. The JAM54D40/LR comes with a silver or black frame to maximize power, while the JAM54D41/LR is all black for aesthetic preference. Each module includes a 25-year product warranty, ensuring reliability, lower investment costs, and stronger long-term returns.
DeepBlue 5.0: Next-Generation TOPCon Technology
Another highlight is the start of mass production of the DeepBlue 5.0 module, built on n-type Bycium+ 5.0 cells and TOPCon architecture, offering up to 670W and conversion efficiency of 24.8%. Its high-density interconnection improves energy yield and long-term reliability, with a temperature coefficient of –0.26%/°C, bifaciality of 85±5%, first-year degradation ≤1%, and linear annual degradation ≤0.35%.
JA SOLAR’s fully automated Yangzhou facility ensures global delivery and quality control at every stage. DeepBlue 5.0 reduces Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) by up to 4.3% compared with DeepBlue 4.0 Pro through upgraded electrical architecture, optimized materials, and improved wafer uniformity, strengthening JA SOLAR’s position in utility-scale, commercial, and residential high-performance projects.
Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is a strategic priority at JA SOLAR. The company implements a holistic approach across production, logistics, materials, and product lifecycle management. Its philosophy, “Green to Grow, Green to Green, Green to Great”, reflects a commitment to clean energy generation, creating value for customers and employees, and continuous innovation in sustainability practices.
Key initiatives include:
- ITS Low Carbon Module series, reducing embedded carbon footprint by up to 40% compared to standard Chinese modules via FBR polysilicon and recycled ingots.
- PFAS assessments confirming harmful substances were not detected in the final product.
- Circular economy principles, emission control, water conservation, and biodiversity protection across operations.
- International certifications such as SSI Silver Medal and EcoVadis Silver, validating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.
Flagship Projects: Signal Iduna Park and Market Leadership in Spain
A flagship example of innovation and sustainability is the Signal Iduna Park project, home to Borussia Dortmund. With more than 11,000 JA SOLAR modules, this will become the world’s largest stadium rooftop PV installation, generating over 4GWh annually, avoiding around 1,800 tons of CO2.
JA SOLAR has a strong European presence, with offices in Madrid and Munich, and leads the Spanish market with 3GW delivered last year. The company anticipates steady growth in the C&I segment, supporting expansion of BESS solutions and adoption of high-efficiency modules.
